U10 Girls Win Bruins Mini 1-on-1 -- On to the Garden!!
ARLINGTON U10 GIRLS WIN DISTRICT 9 CHAMPIONSHIP IN BRUINS MINI 1-ON-1 DISTRICT PLAYDOWNS TOURNAMENT, ADVANCING THE GIRLS TO THE FINALS AT TD GARDEN!
Congratulations to our Arlington U10 Girls Caroline Spencer, Serena Li, Milly Hartman, and Persey Wheeler, who delivered extraordinary performances this past Monday, showcasing skill, determination, and teamwork that propelled them to victory against some of the district's top players in an updated 3-on-3 team format. The team excelled with aggressive offense and near flawless defense, while goalie Persey Wheeler delivered a “lights-out” performance, not allowing a single goal during regulation time in any of the six games played.
Despite a narrow loss in a sudden-death shootout in their second game, the girls prevented elimination and rallied to defeat Newton and Winchester before facing an undefeated Waltham in a thrilling two-game finale. This included a dramatic five-round shootout win in the first game and a 2-0 championship-clinching victory in the second.
Their hard-fought win secures them a spot at the TD Garden on December 20th, where they’ll represent Arlington in the Bruins Academy Mini 1v1(3v3) tournament against top team each of Massachusetts 10 Districts statewide.
As these talented skaters prepare for this incredible opportunity at TD Garden, Arlington is immensely proud of their achievements. Best of luck to the team as they showcase their skills and represent our community on the big stage!
